The Browns found some guard depth right in their own state, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
They’re set to sign fifth-year pro Wes Martin, a native of West Milton, Ohio outside of Dayton, and a member of the Washington Commanders last year, a league source told cleveland.com.
A fourth-round pick of Washington in 2019 out of Indiana, Martin (6-3, 315) also spent time with the Giants and Jaguars before returning to Washington in 2022.
Martin will provide depth behind Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller.
He’s expected to sign Thursday pending the passing of his physical. It will likely be a one-year deal. On the offensive side of the ball, the Browns have traded for receiver Elijah Moore, signed receiver Marquise Goodwin, re-signed center Ethan Pocic, brought back backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs, and signed Texans free agent tight end Jordan Akins.
