Andy Reid is officially the Chiefs' next head coach after he flew into Kansas City today and agreed on a five-year contract, Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports.
Reid arrived this afternoon at Wheeler Downtown Airport, where Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt picked him up in a black SUV and drove him to Arrowhead Stadium.
Hunt showed Reid around the stadium and the former Eagles coach stopped to sign autographs for three Chiefs fans, writing “Go Chiefs” on a couple footballs.
When asked for a comment by a Star reporter, Reid declined. A picture of Hunt and Reid signing documents was posted this evening on the Chiefs' official Twitter account.
The Chiefs have yet to settle on a new general manager to replace Scott Pioli, whose departure from the Chiefs was announced earlier today. The most likely candidate is John Dorsey, Green Bay’s director of college scouting.
