Former NFL coach Jeff Fisher will be part of Fox’s NFL coverage, but it will not be a big role — at least initially, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports.

Right now, Fisher is scheduled to be an analyst on one NFL game during the first half of the upcoming season, sources told The Post. He will be paired with play-by-player Dan Hellie on the Jets-Jaguars broadcast on Sept. 30.

There could be opportunities to do more games or some studio work, but, at this point, it is only one regional game.

Fisher, 60, has become sort of an internet sensation, but not in a good way. The Twitterverse has mocked him in part because he is tied for the most coaching losses in NFL history with Dan Reeves, the former Giants, Broncos and Falcons coach.

Fisher did lead the Titans to the Super Bowl in 1999. He also coached the Houston Oilers and St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, but never really had any real sustained success and had a penchant for finishing seasons poorly.

He will try some TV analysis, but has said he would like to return to the NFL.
