The New York Giants acted quickly to cut off any speculation about Eli Manning's place on the roster -- or the depth chart -- coming off a 3-13 season and breaking in a new regime.

But Manning says nobody has talked to him about his future past 2018, Ryan Dunleavy of NJ Advance Media reports.

"No," Manning said. "This league, it's one year at a time. That's kind of how it goes. I need to go out there and play well this year, and that's all I'm looking forward to."

Manning put the onus on himself, which is smart considering he counts for $22.2 million against the salary cap in 2018, including a $500,000 bonus reportedly for showing up to the voluntary offseason workouts that began Monday. Manning is scheduled for free agency after the 2019 season.

Manning is coming off his worst season (61.6 percent completion rate, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions) since 2013, when he still was too young to overlook his accomplished resume and question his future.
