The Colts have placed star defensive tackle DeForest Buckner on the reserve/COVID-19 list, a move that likely means Buckner will miss just the second game of his career on Sunday against the Titans, Joel Erickson of the Indianapolis Star reports.

An NFL player can be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list either because he’s tested positive or because he was in close contact with someone who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, but in either case, Buckner would have to miss the rematch with Tennessee.

A player who is determined to be a high-risk close contact must be on the reserve/COVID-19 list for at least five days before returning to the team, a player who tests positive for COVID-19 but is asymptomatic must sit out 10 days before returning and a player who is symptomatic and tests positive must sit out at least 14 days.

Depending upon Buckner's situation, his availability for the Colts' Dec. 6 game against the Houston Texans is also still to be determined.
